6 Mobile Apps to Save you Money

Phones have connected to us to so many things from showing us directions if we get lost to connecting us to our families miles away. And now with easy to use mobile apps the convenience of having a phone in your hand also means you get to save money. In this article I will list 6 of my favorite easy to use mobile apps to save you money while you shop!

Flipp App

Flip App is one of my favorite apps to use and it is also the most easiest. This app has all your local store ads in one place. You can search by store or a specific brand to pull up the different ads and prices for that specific brand.

I also like to use this app to plan out my grocery trips (great for budgeting) and clip any coupons that I may have. Check out my Step-by-Step Couponing Guide for Beginners for even more savings and to see how I use this app to plan my grocery shopping trips.

Grocery Store Apps (i.e Kroger, Randalls/Safeway, Savings catcher)

If you have loyalty cards from different grocery stores, then you may also have access to savings just for shopping at specific stores. For example, Kroger offers a free item every Friday to its loyalty card holders, which I always make sure to download straight to my phone and then use my loyalty number at checkout to redeem for my free item! That’s a 52 free items every year!

Others that I like are Randalls (Safeway) or the Savings Catcher from Walmart where it scans competitor ads and the items you purchased on your receipt and if there is a lower price advertised you get the difference!

Ibotta/ Savings Star/ Checkout 51

These apps are all similar in that they will have offers that you can redeem for cashback for purchasing specific items and uploading your receipts. Each one of these apps have specific stores that you are able to redeem from so make sure you check each rebate offer before uploading your receipts.

The easiest to use and one of my favorites is Checkout 51, they allow you  to upload receipts for many stores including Aldi which is already a discounted store. Use this app in conjunction with coupons and the Flip app for awesome savings!

Target & Target Cartwheel

If you love to shop at Target like I do then I highly recommend downloading the Target app. The Target app which now comes with  Cartwheel offers, which are offers on either a single item or a certain percent off specific brands.  My favorite thing about the Cartwheel offer is that you can stack these offers with MFC coupons and target store coupons to get the most savings possible (click here for my printable Coupon Lingo Cheat Sheet). Make sure to read the fine print of the coupons and cartwheel offers you are redeeming to make sure that you are following all the guidelines.

Also don’t forget to sign up for the Red Card I use it every time I shop at Target for an additional 5% off and it is linked to my debit card so I don’t have to worry about credit cards rate etc.

Coupons App

I love that Coupons.com came out with their own mobile version! Now you can print coupons straight from your phone! If you are out and about and do not have the ability to print coupons, you can also send them to your loyalty cards and redeem instantly at checkout or upload your receipts after your purchase to get cashback, similar to Checkout 51 or Ibotta.

Make sure to check out the Coupons.com site also for their IP and cash back dining offers that you can link directly to your credit or debit card. However make sure that you specify credit when you check out as these offers are only eligible with credit transactions.
